Ordered a set of BKP mules for my Yamanao Gibby
These Switchcraft 3 Way Toggle switches with braided wires are tricky bastards to work with. I had to do them 3 times to get it right!
I also added a set of the RS Guitarworks vintage upgrade kit.
GOOD STUFF!
Love them Jensen Caps

Xotic Effects Custom Shop BB Preamp MB (Mid Boost)
I have been longing to get one of these ever since i set hands on the original BB Preamp. The MB (Mid Boost) sealed the deal for me.
But be warned, This MB model is different from the original BB Preamp. It isn't as transparent as the original. This isn't a bad thing as this MB model has it's own character.
It's mid boost function when tweaked past 1500 hrs can produce some gritty Marshall Plexi like tones. Anything below noon is smooth flowing overdrive.
A little more under the hood!
Not bad at all.....

iRig
I'm a little slow in getting this while the craze has already hit rock bottom.
The pricing has also hit rock bottom hence i went out to buy it for those moments where i need to give my loved ones some peace and quiet but yet getting my fix for some tone.
Great little gizmo to mess around in bed without the hassle of hooking up my entire rig.
But of course.....
Nothing beats the real thing. Technology has improved by leaps and bounds but it still cannot replace the real thing.

1999 Limited Edition Yamano Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop
New guitar for 2012!
1999 Limited Edition Yamano Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop
Truly a great guitar. The Yamano tag lives up to it's name. Fully stock and it good condition. Some finish cracks due to natural aging. Normal for a guitar more than a decade old.

New "OLD" Guitar Day.. Edwards E-LP-98LTS
My 2nd Edwards Les Paul to date. These guys really make some good copies.
Edwards E-LP-98LTS or better know as the Laquer Taste Series..
I got this pre owned. Not the best in cosmetic condition but great in terms of tone and playability. I gave up on trying to restore this piece and i smell a relic job in the making. The nitro coat makes this a good candidate for relic jobs.
Some Manlius Fat Diane's for the voice. These pups are not bad at all. Good job Mick! Nice sounding PAFish tones that won't bust the bank.

Drum Amp Crisis: Made In Singapore
With the new arrival of the Roland TD4KX V Drums, It's inevitable that an amp purchase has to come along. I did some research and these drum amps don't come cheap. Average retail price for a entry level drum amp starts from $400. Since i'm not an all out drummer, i could not justify myself to spend a big amount of moola on a standalone drum amp.
Of course there is an alternative that keyboard amps would work well with electronic drums but i still could not justify spending on a keyboard amp just for drums sake.
I did lots of homework and came up with this.
Sonic Gear ARMAGGEDDON Ultra A7 - Armaggeddon class 2.1 High Power Audio System
Specs:
Total Power: 85 Watts RMS
Subwoofer Power: 55 Watts RMS
Satellite Power: 2 x 15 Watts RMS
Subwoofer Driver: 6.5" High Excursion Dedicated Ultra Low Bass
Satellite Driver: 4 x 2.75" Full Range + 2 x 0.75" Silk-Lined Dome Tweeter
Frequency Response: 30Hz - 20KHz
S/N Ratio: &rt; 85 dB
Distortion: < 1% THD (5 TD 300MA peak to peak source) Sensitivity Input: 350mV Enclosure: 12mm MDF with aluminum front panel Enclosure type: 6TH order bass reflex Power Supply: 120/230Volts AC
Although this is just a Multimedia sound system, the specs on this monster is relatively built to withstand some pounding on frequencies. Unlike normal Desktop 2.1 PC speakers which will cause loss in frequencies, This one takes the cake in a new light.
I tested it with the Roland TD4KX and this monster works flawlessly. The highs and low frequencies are all in tack. Not only it can be used as a good drum amp. it can take keyboards and can be used as a multimedia sound system as well. This is a good 3 in 1 swiss army knife for home use.
The Singapore based company Sonic Gear's ARMAGGEDDON Ultra A7 - Armaggeddon class 2.1 High Power Audio System can be found at Challenger stores island wide. Call to check for availability.
Good stuff at an affordable price!
Retail Price: $159.00

Roland TD4KX V Drums
Not a guitar entry but what the heck.
This is my new addition to setting up my home studio.
One more step closer. I'm not much of a good drummer but this will certainly get me on my way.
These mesh heads from Roland are great. Minimal noise with great response and action.
And for those who have the Yamaha Vs Roland electronic drums debate... After many try outs at stores around the island, My conclusion is that Yamaha has a long way to go in terms of electronic drums.
Roland for the win.

Nyko's Metal Pedal
New Add on's for The Guitar Hero Drumkit
Definitely a better pedal than the stock ones. Durable and better sensitivity.

On another note, rumor has it that Activision will seize further production of the Guitar Hero series of games due to high cost of licensing impacted by changes in the music industry. That's kinda sad cause The guitar hero franchise bridged the younger generation to bands they have never heard before. It certainly taught my kids a thing or two about the great rock bands from the yester-years.
